The spotted cat which resembles its feline relatives of the wild is a valued possession of the owner, who believes in owning an exotic pet. These cats though docile in nature give the look of being fierce because of their spotted coat, athletic and large appearance just like their brethrens the tiger or the leopard.
This has originated through the breeding of the Abyssinian Siamese and the American Short Hair. It is also said that they have originated through experimental breeding by Virginia Daly in Michigan. Though they look wild and ferocious they can be easily trained. They have the qualities like a dog that is they are very fond of their masters.
They differ from other cats as they neither seek attention nor do they have a clinging nature on the other hand they are very devoted to the family with whom they reside. They are very adaptable by nature and so it is easy to travel with them as they won’t hesitate to settle down comfortably in a stranger’s lap.
They are not prone to any disease and are always full of energy which makes it easy to train them. They do not need special care or attention. They can be good pets in these modern days as they can be left alone in the house while going on duty as they do not have the clinging nature. They are quite inquisitive about strangers and do not mind going up to them and trying to be friendly with them.
